DMR is the latest business to pledge its support to the first 'This is Manchester Awards' joining headline sponsor Footasylum as a key partner. We have committed to help creatively shape the awards and as a sign of our commitment have already donated an exclusive 'one off' suite of jewellery from our Honeycomb collection.
Inspired by Manchester’s iconic worker bee symbol the design has been an iconic exclusive collection at DMR for a number of years. In celebration of the re-opening of our new Manchester showroom in early 2019, the collection has been revitalised to include the pieces donated for the event.
“David M Robinson are delighted to be a key sponsor of the inaugural This Is Manchester Awards. As a jewellery designer and retailer, we have been trading in St Ann’s Square since 1979 and it’s fair to say that we have been through the good times and the bad. But good prevails and we will never forget the way the city came together as one, in the aftermath of the terrible night at the MEN. As we continue to expand our presence in our home on St Ann’s Square, we remain committed as company to helping to make the community around us as strong as possible and that is why we are happy to support both Onside Youth Zones and the new Awards.” John Robinson, Managing Director.
The awards will champion and recognise individuals and organisations rooted in Manchester within; fashion, entertainment, sports, hospitality, food & drink, the night time economy as well as individuals & organisations who have contributed to the community within Manchester and beyond across 13 categories. Nominations will then be judged by a hand-picked panel of industry experts.
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said; “Across Greater Manchester, organisations and individuals are working together to end the need for rough-sleeping. We would like to thank the ‘This is Manchester Awards’ for supporting the fund to do just that and wish all the entrants the very best of luck and recognition they deserve. Anything that champions the amazing talent we have across Greater Manchester is to be celebrated.”
