WELCOME TO DAVID M ROBINSON

Official tudor RETAILER

The TUDOR brand was first launched in 1926 by Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf, as a watch with all the style, character and robust high quality of its older sibling Rolex, but at a more accessible price point. Their commitment to produce the highest quality watches led to TUDOR timepieces being adopted for use by a number of professional organisations, including militaries and expedition teams around the world. Since 2015, TUDOR has offered in-house manufactured COSC-rated movements, powering watches made with innovative design and state-of-the art production processes.

50 Years of the TUDOR chronograph

2020 saw an important milestone in the TUDOR story, as the brand celebrates 50 years of the TUDOR chronograph. In 1970, with the release of the Oysterdate – a functional chronograph watch which offered a unique design- TUDOR began a journey that has included a number of iconic pieces, leading up to the Black Bay Chronograph which remains popular with friends of DMR today.

A Naval Heritage

A Naval Heritage

In 1954, TUDOR presented their first divers’ watch, reference 7922, one of the first professional instruments aimed at this emerging discipline. The ideal piece for any organisation requiring such a robust, technical piece, this watch caught the attention of the French Navy for their new underwater exploration studies.

Since then, TUDOR watches have been worn on the wrists of divers from the largest navies in the world. A more recent addition to the collection, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight is now the closest to these original pieces which went on to be worn by divers from the French and US navies.

10 Years of the TUDOR Fabric Strap

Often perceived as a trend setter in the world of watches, TUDOR’s reputation for quality and high standards extends further than its watchmaking capabilities. In 2009, when very few brands were familiar with the fabric strap, TUDOR began a relationship with a traditional passementerie company from the St-Etienne region of France.

The brand’s fabric straps are produced by one of very few manufacturers still practising the Jacquard shuttle weaving technique, which allows for endless room for experimental manoeuvre in terms of the complexity of designs, producing a dense weave with a high thread count ensuring sturdiness and flexibility.

Friends of the brand

Friends of the brand

The ‘Born to Dare’ spirit of TUDOR appeals not only to the loyal collectors who continue to purchase timepieces for their own collections, but also to the famous faces who have joined forces with this iconic brand.

One of the most admired, gifted and successful names in football as well as a philanthropist, entrepreneur and global style icon, David Beckham, embodies the daring values that made TUDOR what it is today.

David Beckham wears the Black Bay Chrono in steel, the sports chronograph with contrasting sub-counters, as well as the Black Bay Bronze, a 43 mm divers’ watch inspired by the brand’s history. He also wears the TUDOR Royal, the epitome of versatile sport-chic with its integrated bracelet, notched bezel and automatic movement.
