Discovery is a theme that runs through OMEGA’s remarkable story and the release of the brand’s 2022 novelties introduces a host of exceptional timepieces to the collection. This week, OMEGA welcome a selection of new releases across some of their most iconic families.
Following its descent to the deepest place on Earth in 2019, today OMEGA repurpose the Ultra Deep watch for the public, in a 45.5mm case. Tested in real ocean conditions, this remarkable suite of diver’s watches is water resistant to 6,000m and is certified to meet the ISO 6425 standard.
Leading this collection of seven watches is a bold timepiece crafted in sand-blasted Grade 5 titanium. It features a brushed ceramic bezel with a Liquidmetal™ diving scale, along with distinctive “Manta Lugs” that support a striped NATO strap in black and cyan.
The new Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep is powered by the OMEGA calibre 8912, a self-winding movement with Co-Axial escapement. This certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss and boasts a 60-hour power reserve.
Across the new additions, collectors can choose from a selection of dials, including a lacquered white ceramic and the option of gradient-coloured dials, transitioning from blue to black, or from grey to black.
Amongst the new additions released by OMEGA, the watchmaker introduces a unique collection of Aqua Terra watches all about colour, with a range of new dial shades that follow the spectrum from ocean to Earth.
Two case sizes are available, in 34mm or 38mm, all presented in polished stainless steel and worn on a steel bracelet. The five watches in each size display time across dials representative of the transition from ocean to Earth, including sun-brushed dials in Atlantic Blue, Bay Green, Sandstone, Saffron and Terracotta.
In the 34mm range, additional pastel colours include Sea Blue, Lagoon Green, Shell Pink and Lavender.
True to OMEGA’s watchmaking expertise, the new OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra additions are powered by the brand’s calibre 8800 movement, a self-winding movement with Co-Axial escapement boasting a 55-hour power reserve and is a certified Master Chronometer.
